SCOTT W. GORDON, PRESIDENT of CCCERA (CONTRA COSTA COUNTY EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION
Scott W. Gordon received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1977, and his law degree (Juris Doctor) with high honors from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 1981, where he was Order of the Coif and a Member of the Thurston Society (Top 5% of 1981 Class).
Mr. Gordon has been a Member of the State Bar of California since 1981. He previously served as Legislative Aide to the late former state Senator John A. Nejedly, R- Walnut Creek, and has held both elected and appointed positions. Mr. Gordon is a member of the Los Angeles County and Contra Costa County Bar Associations.
Scott is currently an appointed Trustee and Chair of the Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association Pension Board, appointed by the Board of Supervisors in July 2013 and re-appointed in 2016, 2019 and again in 2022. He has served as Chair since 2021.
From 2001 – Present, in the Law Offices of Scott W. Gordon, a Professional Corporation in Walnut Creek, he has an environmental and public agency practice specializing in regulatory compliance and permitting, legislation and business transactions for private clients and public agencies. He practices in three principal marketplaces: the San Francisco Bay Area, the greater Los Angeles County – Orange County metropolitan area, and the North Bay/Sacramento County. Previously was a partner in Bruen & Gordon in Walnut Creek. He began his legal career with Gordon, DeFraga, Watrous & Pezzaglia in Martinez in 1982.
